f40 Briefing Papers

In March 2011 f40 prepared its first Briefing Paper to summarise concerns about the state of the funding system and to flag up to the government key issues that needed to be addressed as part of the Schools Funding Review consultation.

On 14 March 2011 representatives of f40 attended a meeting in Westminster with Lord Hill of Oareford, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Schools. F40 delegates handed over copies of the Briefing Paper referred to above, and discussed a range of issues relating to funding in general and the upcoming Schools Funding Review consultation in particular. Lord Hill thanked emphasised that f40’s views are always respected and welcomed. He undertook to respond to the Briefing Paper as soon as possible. He also hoped that f40 would make a positive contribution to the consultation. Lord Hill’s response to the Briefing Paper, dated 6 May 2011, can be viewed here.

In December 2011 f40 updated the Briefing Paper as part of its initiative to ensure the group's views are clearly understood as the government determines how to respond to the consultation and developes proposals for a new funding allocation arrangement.  Click here to access the revised Briefing Paper.
